2015-The year that flew by too quickly!
Its been a long time since I have written anything on here. Sorry my friends. I hate to admit it but I have been a little busy. I can honestly say that there are a few uncompleted projects as the year ends. But nonetheless it was still a great year.
I couldn’t be happier with the way things are going. I didn’t make many New Years resolutions last year as I realized that things happen as they are supposed to. As much as I have tried to plan out the years, I could have never predicted where I’d be now.
My kids are amazing. They are growing up way too fast. Dominic is now a teenager and I will say that its an odd time to be a mom. I don’t necessarily know how to handle certain “boy” issues. But one thing that has been fun with him is that he and I have had some amazing conversations over the last year. He is so smart and his outlook on life is awesome. He has told me some thing that I can’t really understand how its possible for him to have this level of intelligence at his age. He told me once “No matter where I am, as long as I have a bed, I am home”. Then on another occasion he said: “It doesn’t matter where you live. If your family is there, thats your home”. This is all coming from a 13 year old and he’s my son! How amazing is that? I feel like I need to start using him for real estate advertising. (Don’t event think about stealing these!)
Isabella…she is great. She has such a big heart. She also has the best sense of humor. She is always goofing around and laughing at herself. Its so entertaining watching her. Her favorite thing this year was the birth of her cousin Ainsley. Isabella adores her and talks about her constantly. We can’t walk into a store without her running to the baby section so she can look at things for her. She still very boy crazy but thankfully she seems to be moving on from her Bieber fever. This has to be one of my biggest accomplishments this year as a parent. I was really worried there thinking I had somehow completely failed. But I guess it could be worse. She could love Nickelback. 🙂
Things at work are friggen amazing. I am beyond excited with my future at RE/MAX Results. I am having so much fun and my leaders have done nothing but support me. Both professionally and personally. ( Thanks Especially to John Collopy, Brenda Tushaus and my sort of teacher Amy Colletta) It’s great to work for a company that supports the things I want to do, even if they are not standard practice. There’s no bearacuracy. Things are just simple. It’s weird that we are the largest RE/MAX franchise but it feels like a small, mom and pop shop. I have a few great projects I am working on with them and I can’t wait to share them. 2016 is going to be another amazing year at RE/MAX Results!
One thing that I did make some adjustments to was my health. While I always have been relatively healthy, there is always room for adjustment. Sometimes it takes someone calling you out to make you get into check. Thanks to one of my friends for doing that. One simple change has made all of the difference. I am, however, still working on the whole sleeping thing. Breaking two decades or more of habit is hard to change. But its still a goal to sleep, every night, consistently.
I do have a couple of secrets. While I am not ready to share them yet, I can’t wait to. Things are going well in my life and I finally figured some things out. Look for two key things that I’ll announce next year. I know you’ll probably try to guess what I am talking about. I’ll just continue to leave you all hanging. I like to keep people guessing.
Every year I have been reminded that I have the largest and best family ever. Even if they are not blood. Its the one thing I have always been so thankful for. I am very lucky. I hope to spend 2016 paying it forward with friendship, mentorship and all around happiness.
Cheers to all of my family, friends and new connections! You’ve all made 2015 great! I can’t wait for the new year! The possibilities are endless!
